Pendulum painting. Very cool for STEM learning. I did this once at the Science Museum of Virginia years ago as a student on a field trip. Would love to recreate it as a classroom learning experience. Via The Children's Art Group: Meetup 22: Pendulum Painting.

Pendulum Waves - couldn't do glow in the dark but maybe could set up light to cast shadow and gain similar perspective.

Pendulum Painting

This activity is a great example of art and science integration. It can be modified for nearly any grade level, but I think it would be most enjoyable for younger grades. It could be used as a way to introduce basic physics and the laws of motion, or it could be turned into a lesson on scientific inquiry. Students could make predictions of what they think the painting will look like when they swing the pendulum from different heights, record their observations, and make conclusions.

This is a short quiz/worksheet to check for student's understanding of kinetic and potential energy. Using the simple illustration of a pendulum swinging back and forth, students can compare different amounts of kinetic or potential energy in relation to the pendulem's position.Check out these other two versions!Kinetic Vs Potential Energy 1Kinetic Vs Potential Energy 2Corresponds to: Science TEKS 6.8ACopyright Travis Terry.

I use a pendulum in Reiki sessions to receive information about the client's chakras. This is an interesting read, told from a quantum physics perspective.
