"This outdoor shower on the Kahua Institute property is set in the lower branches of a tree: A thatched roof, durable bamboo and plexiglass panels shelter the bather from wind and rain, but retain the view. This being Huelo, the retreat is “off the grid”; the Decostends rely on water catchment, solar batteries for lights, and propane that heats water instantly, then shuts off when not in use."
Created by design student Félicie Eymard, the Hide and Seek Lamps remain invisible when you don’t need them but when you do, they become a sculptural presence in the room. The etched plexiglass panels can be moved around to get the look you want. By turning the light on, the panels suddenly generate the linear pattern on the plexi.
