BE ART SMART

Color Wheel for Elementary Students I’ve found that most color wheels are either too complicated (lots of sections and subsections) or too simple (three overlapping balloons) for your average elementary student. My solution is to make my own, and also diagram primary, secondary, warm, cool and complementary colors. You can download a copy for free HERE (new link). Enjoy!

Color Mixing on Coffee Filters- Primary colors are one of the first art concepts I like to introduce young kids to in art. First, because they are a basic building block for for understanding how to make all kinds of things. And second, because mixing colors is kind of magical. Color mixing on coffee filters is a fun introduction to what happens when those primary colors mix together!

Primary Pears...how cute. Could be cute tissue paper decoupage project showing how colors mix.
