Princess Andrew of Greece and Denmark. Born Princess Alice of Battenberg, a great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria. She married Prince Andrew of Greece and had 5 children including Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, making her Queen Elizabeth's mother-in-law. She was congenitally deaf, devoutly religious and is recognised at Yad Vashem for hiding a Jewish family from the Holocaust.

Alice, who was born deaf, married Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark. They had four daughters and one son, Philip. In 1928 Philip was sent to live in England. He joined the Royal Navy in 1939 and married his third cousin Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) in 1947.
