Borum Eshoj woman was between 50 and 60 years old when she died. Relatively short and stocky; traces of muscles on her bones show she did hard physical work.   The clothes are a rectangular cloth made of several pieces sown together, blouse, hairnet, cap and 2 belts, made from wool. Also bronze jewellery, including a belt plate, a neck ring, arm rings, spiral finger rings and a clothes pin. The grave also contained a pottery vessel, a wooden box, a bronze dagger and a horn comb.

The grave of a man dating to around 2,300BC was discovered three miles from Stonehenge by Wessex Archaeology staff in May 2002. His grave was the richest from this period (the early Bronze Age) ever found in Britain and contained the country’s first gold objects.
