Blue Cheer was a psychedelic band in the 60s-70s. Their loud blues-rock style bordered on heavy metal and is considered to be the pioneer of that genre, as well as punk rock and grunge. The name “Blue Cheer” stems from a street brand of LSD that was created by Grateful Dead soundman (and LSD chemist), Owsley Stanley. Artists: Bob Schnepf Thomas Weir

Country Joe And The Fish were by far, the most psychedelic of the psychedelic bands, bar none. They absolutely nailed it! This album pictured is for me, their best, though the first album, Electric Music... comes a close second. Facebook buddies with the two guitar players who are both still active, Barry Melton and David Bennett Cohen.
