A cool idea to repurpose a record is to make it into a record bowl. Instead of those records sitting around collecting dust they now become useful.

A few people have asked how one goes about making record bowls. This is how I do it. Cheers! PS: Idiot that I am, I forgot to say how long you leave it in. Honestly, it’s about 5 minutes if that. Depends on how thick your vinyl is. Just check up on it now and then. It’s safe to touch as soon as it comes out, and it’ll firm up in a few minutes.

I made this by painting with acrylic paints on an old vinyl record and then melting the record into a record bowl. My bowls are finished with a shiny enamel that brings out the vibrant colors.
