William Shives Fisher Residence is a brick 2.5 storey Second Empire building with a stone front façade, Built in 1879, Its association with William Shives Fisher as one of the leading manufacturers and businessmen of Canada. He took up residence at this address in 1890. In 1878, he partnered with Robert B. Emerson and they jointly established the firm of “Emerson & Fisher.” Fisher remained at this residence until his death in 1931.
