The Rolling Stones, 'Exile on Main Street' - i love the blues and even more, i love rock albums, groups, sounds, artists (particularly guitarists) inspired by the blues. and i don't mean they just like the blues, i mean successfully incorporate the blues sound into their music (i.e. this album, jimmy page in general, jimi hendrix, the list goes on)...this album does all the right things.
#32 - The Rolling Stones' final record of the Sixties kicks off with the terrifying "Gimme Shelter," the song that came to symbolize not only the catastrophe of the Stones' free show at Altamont but the death of the decade's utopian spirit. The entire album burns with apocalyptic cohesion. www.jeffreymarkell.com #orangecountyrealtor #jeffforhomes #greatestalbums
