Edward’s human life in Chicago was fairly happy and uneventful. His parents were moderately wealthy as his father was a successful lawyer. The biggest worry in his mother’s life was the fact that World War I was raging and Edward was only a year away from the draft, which had been lowered to 18 years of age in August of 1918.


Daniel reminds us in this painting to keep our eyes on God and not our problem. One of my favorite pieces of art.


Theodore Roosevelt became President in 1901 after McKinley's assassination and then was elected in 1904. His progressive policies helped level the playing field for the working man and he was an original advocate for universal healthcare. Our 26th President was a forceful leader not only of our Nation, but of this hemisphere.
