While not a "school" shooting, a tragedy still. WOUNDED KNEE MASSACRE: On December 29, 1890,at Wounded Knee Creek a shot was fired by an unidentified gunman. On the Pine Ridge Reservation, government troops opened fire on the mostly unarmed Lakota people, and massacred 290 Sioux men, women and children, including many trying to flee, in a matter of minutes. Thirty-three soldiers died, most from friendly fire, 20 Medals of Honor were presented to surviving soldiers.
What is going on?!!! "One failed attempt at a shoe bomb, and we all take off our shoes at the airpot... thirty-one school shootings since Columbine and no change in the regulation of guns." --- John Oliver.
On April 20, 1999, two students – Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris – of Columbine High School in Colorado opened fire on students within their school. It was the first mass student shooting on a U.S. campus and it shocked the entire nation. 13 individuals were killed. (Not counting the larger school killings at Wounded Knee in 1890 -- how history forgets.)
