Wat o' Harden's horn - Walter Scott of Harden (bef 1563-1629). "Auld Wat" was a notorious Border Reiver. In 1596, under his chief, Walter Scott of Buccleuch, (himself a Reiver of note), he participated in the rescue of another notorious Reiver, Kinmont Willie Armstrong, fm Carlisle Castle. Auld Wat’s bugle-horn is often referred to and an engraving of it is given in the “Scotts of Buccleuch”, it shows it’s surface completely covered in initials, cut or burned into the horn.
