Girl in Hammock (1894). Theodore Robinson (American, 1852-1896). Oil on canvas laid down on board. Robinson sets the solidly rendered figure within a broadly brushed landscape of vivid greens and yellows. He adeptly captures the play of light and shadow on the sun-dappled landscape and, to attain compositional unity, utilizes highlights of pinks and blues in the grass and trees that are similar to those of Miss Buttles’ clothes. The hammock adds complexity.
As a manager of several apartment complexes I had A LOT of old keys. I even contemplated throwing them out, but I didn't. I wanted to incorporate them somehow with my model apartment/leasing office makeover, this is what I came up with! The best part is it barely cost anything! The 3 pk of shadow boxes I got BOGO free when I purchased a frame at Michaels! People that come into my office LOVE it! So proud of my project! =) I figure I should mention that since the keys are heavy that I did…
Morgana is a really cool villain, but my heart broke over her outright betrayal of Camelot. I miss her innocence, and even her hidden deception. I'm sad that it ever came to light that she was trying to overthrow the Pendragons.
