This telescopic view was recorded in the Libyan desert during the August 1, 2008 total solar eclipse. It shows solar prominences extending just beyond the edge of the eclipsed sun. Remarkably, features on the dark near side of the New Moon can also be made out, illuminated by sunlight reflected from a Full Earth.

According to kahuna legend, this ancient symbol radiates an energy that increases happiness and good fortune. The circles represent unconditional love (Aloha), the branching lines represent divine power (Mana), and the total of eight circles and lines represents abundant good (Pono). The symbol is said to be a channel for the blessing of whatever location it is in and whoever is in sight of it. We bring it back to help transform the world. Copyright 1984 - by Huna International.
