Mrs. Silence Dogood, was Benjamin Franklin's alias in writing. After Franklin became his brother's apprentis for the New-England Courant (newspaper), he was denied to write for it. Ben wrote a column for the paper, as Mrs. Silence Dogood. James, his brother, didn't know Benjamin was "Mrs. Silence Dogood" and when he found out, he was upset.
