For the filling. 25g/1oz butter. 3 onions, roughly sliced. salt and freshly ground white pepper. 250g/9oz Lancashire cheese, (1/2 Feta & 1/2 strong cheddar substitute) coarsely grated. milk, for sealing and glazing.
Sherry Trifle (Loved the sponge recipe, would be so easy to memorise!) Weigh 3 eggs, then add the weight of the eggs in self raising flour, softened butter, caster sugar and 1 tsp baking powder. Pour in a cake tin and bake in a preheated oven (180C/Gas mark 4) for 35-40 minutes.)
