Fourplay American contemporary jazz quartet. The original members of the group were Bob James (keyboards), Lee Ritenour (guitars), Nathan East (bass), and Harvey Mason (drums).In 1997, Lee Ritenour left and Fourplay chose Larry Carlton as his replacement. In 2010, Larry Carlton left Fourplay and was replaced by Chuck Loeb.Grammy-nominated Fourplay has enjoyed consistent artistic and commercial success by grafting elements of R and pop to their unwavering jazz foundations.
Kirk Whalum ~ American Smooth Jazz Saxophonist and Songwriter. He toured as Whitney Houston's opening act for several years.Kirk has also recorded a series of well received solo albums and film soundtracks, with music ranging from pop to R&B to smooth jazz. Kirk’s musical accomplishments have brought him a total of 12 Grammy nominations. Kirk won his first Grammy award in 2011 for Best Gospel Song (“It’s What I Do”-featuring Lalah Hathaway)
Bob James is a Grammy Award winning Jazz Legend who has been called the "Godfather" of Smooth Jazz. His award winning song "Angela" was the title song for the hit TV Show Taxi and he has performed around the world bringing his unique style and composition. Bob is also considered one of the great "cross-over" artists, having his music played on radio of a variety of genre's. Bob is currently the band leader of the Grammy award winning super group Fourplay, in addition to his solo work.
