Fire Crackers ~ 1 lb unsalted Saltine Crackers, cup Canola Oil, Ranch Dressing Mix, Red Pepper Flakes, Garlic Powder. Once you start munching you just can't stop!!.. These would be good with a good cheese ball or dip
I've been looking for a recipe for this cracker treat. One person described them as "Firecrackers". I prefer 2-3 bags of oyster crackers, SO EASY, no worries about breaking. I have also tried this with 2-3 bags of pretzels, too. SO GOOD. Oh I added some cayenne to the mix for extra heat. (I have doubled up or more on crackers, I didn't like my crackers saturated in the oil, just a coating for the pepper to stick.) ENJOY
Spicy Crackers with Canola Oil, Hidden Valley Ranch Mix, Crackers, and Chile Flakes...one of our softball moms makes this but uses 2 c oil, 2 packets of dressing mix, 1 tbsp cayenne powder, and 1tbsp chile flakes. YUMMMMM!
Spicy Ranch Red Pepper Cracker Mix: Mix 1 cup canola oil, 1 pkg dry ranch dressing, and 3T crushed red pepper in a large bowl or container that has a lid. Add in Mini Saltines, Mini Clubs, and Cheez-Its (about 3/4 box of each kind), then stir crackers, put lid on container and shake mixture. They will be ready to eat after 2 hrs. Store in airtight container.
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. 2. Combine all of the ingredients in a casserole dish and gently stir until thoroughly mixed. Adjust seasoning to taste. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until lightly golden on top. 3. Serve hot, with hot sauce on the side for those who like it spicy. Best with a butter cracker, like Ritz. Makes about 1 1/2 cups.
