In “Sneak Peek,” students ages 14 and up analyze literature and visually demonstrate their comprehension of details. Using the Stop Motion Studio app, they create a book trailer promoting its imagery, symbolism, or theme. Students select a scene they feel best illustrates their point and then create a storyboard before making their video. The class then watches and discusses everyone’s creations. A movie trailer is a perfect summarizing activity. It can also act as a “teaser” as an introduction to a presentation or student paper. A movie trailer can readily showcase the acquisition of knowledge of a lesson or unit.
ComicLife is a great example of how to get students interested in writing. Activities must "first and foremost captivate students' interests". With this program, kids can upload their hand drawn pictures, write narration, & character dialogue to create a story that exemplifies their interests and personalities.
