Patricia Campbell "Patty" Hearst (born February 20, 1954), now known as Patricia Campbell Hearst Shaw, is an American newspaper heiress, socialite, actress, kidnap victim, and convicted bank robber. Her kidnapping case is held by many as an example of Stockholm syndrome.
In 1974, Patty Hearst, an American newspaper heiress and socialite, was kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA). Patty eventually began to relate to her captors and started to take part in their criminal endeavors under the name Tania. This photography shows her holding an M1 Carbine while robbing a Hibernia bank in San Francisco for which she was arrested in 1975.
