Thomasina Winifred Montgomery, known as Tammi Terrell (April 29, 1945–March 16, 1970) was an American recording artist & songwriter most notable for her association with Motown Records & her duets with Marvin Gaye. After modest solo success her stardom grew when paired with Gaye in 1967. On Oct. 14, 1967 she collapsed on stage into Gaye's arms.
