Defending champions Great Britain won silver in the Olympic team dressage, as world champions Germany claimed gold. The British quartet - Spencer Wilton, Fiona Bigwood, Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin - were beaten into second by 3.334 points. Germany's Sonke Rothenberger, Dorothee Schneider, Kristina Broring-Sprehe and Isabell Werth scored 81.936 points, with Britain on 78.602. The United States won bronze
Mules, through the ages, have been used for carrying, plowing, Army duties, riding and pulling. Like these, harnessed up, they work well, due to their strength and larger stronger hooves, compared to the horse. They are also calmer than a horse, in most cases, another reason they were bred for pulling in a team.
