Samantha Murray, Laura Asadauskaite, Yane Marques - Olympics modern pentathlon: Samantha Murray wins silver for Great Britain in the final event of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Lithuania's Laura Asadauskaite won as GB's Mhairi Spence, the world champion, finished 21st. British pentathletes have now won medals at all four Games since the women's event was introduced in 2000. Murray's medal was the 65th Team GB won in 2012.
Charlotte Dujardin and Laura Bechtolsheimer - 3rd Golden Woman from Day 13 - Charlotte Dujardin won Britain's second dressage gold medal of the Olympics as the host nation's equestrian team finished London 2012 with three titles. "I wanted to enjoy it, go out and not regret anything," said Dujardin, who also helped Britain to team victory in Greenwich Park on Tuesday. Dujardin beat a huge score from Dutch rider Adelinde Cornelissen while Laura Bechtolsheimer took bronze for GB.
Amid such a fiesta of British medals, it seemed a little remiss if one of this country’s most lucrative Olympic sports had not chipped in too. Samantha Murray won Britain’s 65th and final medal of the London 2012 Olympic Games in thrilling circumstances, producing a stirring run to claim silver.
