#Comets and Bright Star | This timely, telescopic, two panel mosaic spans about 10 full moons across planet Earth's predawn skies. Recorded as the year began from Tenerife, Canary Islands, near the top of the frame are the faint coma and tail of Comet Borrelly (P/19). A comet with a seven year orbital period, Borrelly's nucleus was visited by the ion propelled spacecraft Deep Space 1 near the beginning of the 21st century.

Spiral galaxy NGC 3274 is a relatively faint galaxy located over 20 million light-years away in the constellation of Leo (The Lion).

This Hubble Space Telescope image combines observations gathered in five different filters, bringing together ultraviolet, visible and infrared light to show off the galaxy in all its glory. It was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel in 1783. Another galaxy is also visible on the upper right of the frame, located much farther away from Earth.
