The Lawnmower Man is a 1992 American science fiction action horror film written by Brett Leonard and Gimel Everett. The film is named after a Stephen King short story of the same title, but aside from a single scene, the stories are unrelated. The film stars Jeff Fahey as Jobe Smith, a simple-minded gardener, and Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Lawrence Angelo, the scientist who decides to experiment on him.
The Lawnmower Man trailer Another movie dealing with AI this one is about virtual reality along with drugs that change a mentally retarded man to a super genius with ESP powers and in 1992 an early portrayal of the Internet. This movie borrows from 3 Stephen King stories Lawnmower Man, Fire Starter, Carrie plus Nigel Keyes Flowers for Algernon and Arthur C. Clarke's Dial F for Frankenstein. Great special effects! This movie like 2001 earlier made me more interested in computers.
