Rusty Nail 1 ½ oz Scotch whisky ½ oz Drambuie Scotch whisky 1 twist lemon peel Pour the scotch and drambuie into an old-fashioned glass almost filled with ice cubes. Stir well. Garnish with the lemon twist.
Drambuie is a sweet, golden coloured 80-proof liqueur made from malt whisky, honey, herbs, and spices. Produced in Broxburn, West Lothian, Scotland, serve straight, on the rocks, or add to mixed drinks such as the Rusty Nail. The name "Drambuie" may derive from the Scottish Gaelic phrase an dram buidheach, meaning "the drink that satisfies", or possibly an dram buidhe meaning "the red drink". Drambuie received the highest score, a "96-100", in the Wine Enthusiast's 2008 spirit competition.
