Tony Jaa - Love him... in the first ONG-BAK: MUAY THAI WARRIOR! "...Tatchakorn Yeerum. Better known in the West as Tony Jaa, in Thailand as Jaa Panom, is a Thai martial artist, physical educator, actor, choreographer, stuntman, director, and spent time as a Buddhist monk!"
Tony Jaa was raised in Surin province 400 km from Bangkok. As he grew up he watched films by Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Vince Lam and Jet Li at temple fairs, which was his inspiration to learn martial arts. He was so inspired by them that while he was doing chores or playing with friends, he would imitate the martial arts moves that he had seen, practicing in his father's rice paddy. He is a well versed martial artist excelling in Muay Boran, Muay Thai, Aikido, Judo, Wushu & Taekwondo.
I love Tony Jaa. He has become my favorite person to watch in movies. He is a Thai martial artist, specializing in Muay Thai. He is an actor, action choreographer, film producer and director, stuntman, physical educator and has spent time as a Buddhist Monk. He is mesmerizing to watch and I love what his characters stand for.
