NYT Cooking: I use the food mill instead of a blender — immersion or regular — because I love the texture of the soup when it’s put through the mill’s coarse blade, resulting in a flavorful, colorful mixture that you can almost chew on. But you can use a blender to purée the soup. The texture will be coarsest — which is what you want — if you use an immersion blender.

Swamp Soup! Ingredients: 2 large cans Old Glory seasoned turnip greens, 2 small cans black beans, 2 small cans navy beans, 2 cans chicken broth, 1/2 onion, minced garlic, 1 package Conecuh sausage. Directions: chop onion, cut sausage into bite size pieces and brown on med heat. Once browned add remaining ingredients and season to your liking. Add a side of corn bread and enjoy!
