Get the flowers long before April even has a chance to shower. To get started on this craft project perfect for brunches, baby showers, spring themed get togethers or just because, pick a few of your favorite blooms. Then, find some twine and tie a double knot at the end of each stem and repeat fastening the other flowers. Once you have about six finished strands, knot them to a twig or branch. Finally, hang and enjoy! Click through to find even more homegrown inspiration!
1. Start with a wooden basket that is 8 or 12 inches in diameter. Gather a bundle of birch branches. Cut off the fine tips, then cut the branches into varying lengths (6 to 12 inches). 2. Using 24-gauge brown wire, secure the end of a branch to the base of the basket. Bend the branch along the basket's curve, wiring every 4 or 5 inches so that loose ends stick out. Repeat with remaining branches, overlapping them to conceal the basket
Celebrate nature's beauty with a wreath of pinecones on an 18-inch twig base. Wrap a 9-inch length of 22- or 24-gauge florist's wire around the top of the base to create a hanger; loop a 3-inch length of wire through the 9-inch length; twist ends together. With a glue gun, attach the pinecones (we used about 120), starting with the inside. Repeat on the outside of the base, then the front. (Photo: Photo: ; Stylist: ; Designer:)
