November, the month of autumn that turns into winter. It all reminds me of falling leaves, twigs, warm sweaters, the fireplace, a lot of cosiness and of course hot chocolate! It’s one of my favorite months of the year and I’m already looking forward to Christmas! Novembers theme was a little different. Most of the time I choose one theme and stick with it. This month I choose for the theme: Building. And with this I mean special and populair buildings in different cities of the world.

Rustic Twig Christmas Ornaments - Rustic Christmas Ideas!

I’m really into making simple things for the holidays this year. If you read my Decorative Twig Christmas Tree post, you know that we are on a budget this year so my decorations have to be inexpensive to make. So when my fellow Canadian blogger friends asked me to join in the Rustic Christmas Hop I said yes right away! Rustic doesn’t necessary mean inexpensive, but to me it means going back to using simple things to create beautiful treasures. With that in mind, I created these Rustic Twig…


Birch verticals and horizontals screwed together to make an arbour. Flexible willow forms the arch. Making your own supports, ideally on the spot, means that you can tailor them to the size and shape you require. Supports from garden centers are designed to fit on the top of a car and are rarely tall enough for vigorous climbers.
