City of Anarchy: Kowloon Walled City, located not far from the former Kai Tak Airport, was a remarkable high-rise squatter camp that by the 1980's had 50,000 residents. A historical accident of colonial Hong Kong, it existed in a lawless vacuum until it became an embarrassment for Britain. It was the densest place in the world, ever. This month marks 20th anniversary of its demolition.


In Amityville, around 3am on Nov 13, 1974, Ronald DeFeo Jr., 23, shot his parents & 4 siblings to death as they slept. He then went to work. Around 6:30pm DeFeo alerted people that his parents were dead. Police found the bodies & DeFeo was taken to the police station, where he confessed. DeFeo claimed that he killed his family because he heard their voices plotting against him. He was sentenced to life in prison. DeFeo had a volatile relationship with his dad but his motives is unclear.
