The Ukraine national flag was adopted on September 4, 1991, shortly after the collapse of the former Soviet Union. This is the country's original flag, but it was banned for many decades under German and Soviet occupations. The shade of blue is said to be symbolic of the sky, while the yellow represents Ukraine's golden wheat fields.
Ukrainian flag - Blue for the sky & Yellow for the fields--- On my wedding dress jacket - I beaded the tulle embellishments using 2 types of beading in the flower centers: (1) with turquoise blue & yellow beads with white pearls, and the other flower centers with pink beads and white pearls. I wanted to represent us as both supporters of the Ukraine. They are our family and a very special people for being so nice to me both in MD and here in SC.
