Eco Housekeeping Tip: Pet Odor Eliminator - 1. spray bottle, water, mouthwash, newspaper. 2. combine 2 parts water to 1 part mouthwash 3. spray mixture on soiled area, do not soak. Then place newspaper over the sprayed area & let dry. The newspaper will absorb the smell. Repeat if necessary. Your cushions or carpet may smell minty fresh, but once it wears off the urine smell will be gone.
Dog Urine Odor Be Gone! Tested and proven. All you need is a water bottle + H2O + White Vinegar + Tide Detergent. Use 6 oz water, 2 oz Vinegar and 1 tablespoon of Tide. Squirt on affected area and Voila, odor should be gone in less than 24 hours! I used this on my carpet, pillows and couch (new puppy!) Works like a charm.

Lemon juice also work great as an dog urine odor remover. Mix lemon juice -- commercial or freshly squeezed -- with water and sprinkle it on your carpets. This smell is pleasant for people, but will keep your dog at bay. The citric acid is also effective if you want to clean and remove urine odor from carpets.
If traces of urine odor remain on your carpet from an unfortunate accident, that odor may signal to your pet that “This is where you go”. Since many pet urine stains are invisible to the naked eye, you can use a handheld blacklight to spot them. Just turn the lights out and move the blacklight around the room, a few inches above the carpet, until you spot the conspicuous glow of a urine stain. Then tackle the stain immediately.
All Natural Pet Urine Odor Removal Add the following to a spray bottle. •2 tsp baking soda •10 oz hydrogen peroxide (I used 3%) •2 tsp vinegar •4 drops of Orange Essential Oil •Shake before using •Test a small amount of area to be cleaned to be sure it doesn't affect color •You could use any citrus oil - lemon, grapefruit, but I prefer orange Generously spray the area and let it dry. Once dry, vacuum as usual. You may have to apply multiple times for heavily soiled areas.
