Narcissists are excellent actors / actresses. They really know how to give a performance & people are mesmerized by their fake charm & innocence. It leaves the victim feeling deflated, bewildered & confused. It's hard to change people's perception of the narcissist because they are so convincing in playing victim & tainting you as the abuser.
Narcissists are the most dishonest people you'll ever met. They'll provoke you and verbally attack you. When you react to their abuse and defend yourself, they'll turn either rageful or play the victim in front of others to make you look bad. They are con-artists who are spiteful and vengeful. --jo
My mother played the victim and taught me to play the victim. I know better now, and I know that victims are neither happy nor fulfilled. Sure, they get the upper hand, but what kind of life is that? Using emotional blackmail to get your way empties you and teaches your kids the wrong way to handle things. Don't play the victim.
