Virginia-Highland is named after the intersection of Virginia Avenue and North Highland Avenue in Atlanta, the heart of a busy commercial district at the center of the neighborhood. The neighborhood is famous for its bungalows and other historic houses from the 1910s-1930s. It has become a destination for people across the city, with its eclectic mix of restaurants, bars, and shops and for the Summerfest festival, annual Tour of Homes, and other events.
Check out this amazing sculpture by Eugene Simpson and Ben Broden! You can view and purchase sculptures like this one during the Arts and Crafts show at the Virginia Highlands Festival this year. The Festival dates are July 29 through August 7, 2016.
