Otto Moritz Walter Model was a German general and later field marshal dedicated to Hitler and Nazism. He was master of the defensive battle and was widely recognized as the Wehrmacht's best defensive tactician. He committed suicide in 1945 to avoid capture. He was the Commander of Heeres Gruppe B, and thus the overall German commander for Market Garden.
