Wasp/hornet trap: a mason jar and a funnel. Put watered down orange juice in the jar. The wasps/hornets are attracted to the fruit juice so they'll go down the funnel but won't be able to find their way out and eventually drown. Pet and kid safe.

Bee Trap for Trapping Yellow Jackets

Homemade Bee, Yellowjacket, & Wasp Trap Take a gallon milk jug and cut an upside down V shape in the side 2/3 way up on the jug. Press the tab in. Pour fruit juice ( I use apple) 1 inch deep into the jug. Put the cap back on the jug and hang. Insects enter through the hole and can't get out.

Keep Wasps away with a brown paper bag. The wasps and yellow jackets see it and think it's a hornet's nest and they avoid it
