I remember the Blizzard of 1978 in Ohio very well. It began on Jan. 25 and continued until Jan. 26. Although only 7 inches of snow fell in a 24-hour period, it was combined with 60 MPH winds making snow drifts as high as 12 feet! Schools were closed for a week due to all the snowfall.
Extremely cold temperatures caused the crashing waves from Lake Erie to freeze on the surface of the Cleveland Harbor West Pierhead Lighthouse forming a bizzarre structure - much like a sand castle - Ohio - USA
