I chose this Pin for my board because I think it is a great Quote. To me this quote means that if you believe that racism is no longer going on in our world you're racist. Racism is still a huge topic in today's society so the fact that you don't think it exists means that you yourself are very close minded or racist.

Skin color doesn't even matter. Heck, you could be PURPLE and I wouldn't care! Your skin color does not define the person that you are inside.

But there is the imagined loss of privilege for overly privileged people. Like it is a well that will dry if used by all.

What scares me is knowing that I live in a country where the majority is okay with racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, and sexual assault.

Father, who cares not for our skin color but for what is in our hearts, help us to honor Your servant, Martin Luther King, Jr., by taking up where he was forced to leave off. Teach us to honor his birthday, an American holiday, not just with words, but with works and attitudes. Give us the courage to stand up against racism in our families, schools, workplaces, churches, communities and government. Give us the strength to do as Dr. King did and take up the cause of racial equality.

My Own Mind: Homeschool Atheist Momma: We Want Peace!: I don't know the right thing to do. I have no idea what the president or any leader should do. All I know is that the kids and I fervently crave peace in this world that is driven mad by religious extremism.
