Bastille 1789: This French whisky is a great value. Without knowing anything about its origins other than it being French, my first sip told me that this was some bizarre blend between scotch and cognac. It's sweet, light, and smooth. The wine casks they've used here made for one unique beverage, almost as though it were actually made with grapes. $40.
A 2007 vintage Benromach, matured in first fill bourbon casks then finished for 31 months in specially selected French wine casks from the Hermitage Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée, northern Rhône. Stunning colour, bottled in 2016 at 45%.
