the sun is setting over an arch with statues on it and trees in the background
Pretty special sunrise this morning here in London. I had never shot this location at sunrise before (kudos to @ggts_photography for planning it) and I got very excited at the idea. As per my usual it didnt go smoothly the first time round. Or the second. Came here twice in the past days following a good sunrise forecast but of course the weather did not cooperate. Not much of a surprise in London. But today even though the sky did not turn red as anticipated (maybe tomorrow) the scene was sti

One more from the epic sunrise in London that I posted yesterday. This is my probably my favourite because even though there is no actual sunrise it is very rare to see the sky turn blood red this way. These colours appeared just after 6am way more than an hour before the sun would show up (which it didnt if not through a narrow gap for a couple minutes) in a sky completely covered with clouds. An absolutely unbelievable scene. Perhaps one that in the past could have inspired horror stories who

Back to my most colourful series! After the stress of my latest sunrise obsession that youll learn all about in my next YouTube video tomorrow I needed a quiet place. Somewhere to relax and maybe not even think about photography at all Well I still took my camera and went for sunrise but I actually spent more time just relaxing and watching the sun rise in silence rather than being obsessed with photographing the scene. Photography is my zen space. Its what brought me back from a very dark pe

Snow photo number 3. Like I said in the previous post I need to end this row of snow shots in order to move back to my sunrise/sunset series. My OCD would not tolerate to have an incomplete row in my curated feed. Its also a hint at my street photography work which I have not published photos of since August (not that I have published much of anything anyway) but the lady here was so happy in the snow I had to capture her mood so I could look at this photo and feel happy myself. I hope it has

I didnt end my snow series of 3 last week so now I need to catch up even though the snow is now gone. Truth is here weve been blessed with a few good days that were the ideal conditions to photograph. So at the time I usually post my photos I was always out shooting. You may have seen in my stories and those of my friends that sunrises in particular were extreeeemely good and Im going to post a few of those as soon as I resume my sunrise/sunset series. But I need to have this snow out of the wa

OK Im going to take a quick break from the colourful sunrises and sunsets because its been snowing for a couple days now in London and I want to show it to you. This is a bit lighter than the snowfall I shared in my YouTube video last week (go watch it if you havent - use the link in bio) but its been more persistent and coupled with strong winds. While I was preparing my Fujifilm X-T4 to go out and photograph the snow prior to said video I realised that I like the look of one of the film sim

Do I influence the weather in London? If you remember my last post I talked about how I was kind of re-emerging from a dark place and how it was mirrored by the reintroduction of colour in my posts. well it seems like the weather here is playing along Nice colourful sunrises an epic sunset in this very moment as I write this Gosh I wish I had this power. I would make epic sunsets happen every single day. At least every single day that Im out to photograph So here it is. Epic sunset with the m

Were already reaching the end of the first month of 2021. I hope you are all doing well in these times. Myself I had my struggles in the different lockdown phases but Ive had highs as well. When it all started my creativity had me really pumped; I was kind of making myself ready for when the hard times would pass. Months later this all changed to a sort of lockdown-fatigue and I hit a low bar when I was having a hard time to find inspiration to do anything. With the beginning of the new year I

Im posting this while my new YouTube video is uploading and the 2 are very much related. As much as I would like for this photo to inspire you (and get your likes obviously) I would like my coming video to motivate you. To not fall into the trap of chasing perfection but actually accept failure. This sort of perfect photo (symmetrical with the sun dead centre and in between the buildings at the right height etc) does not represent the reality of me waking up at silly hours every other morning w

One more hypercolourful sunset to get through these grey days in London. Hopefully its better where you live This was shot with the medium format Fujifilm GFX camera and the details are just out of this world. I dont you can fully appreciate how good it is from Instagram (considering the compression as well) but I was miles away and this is still tack sharp throughout the whole image. Might be worth considering the upgrade By the way in about an hour time I publish my next YouTube video where

If you have already subscribed to my newsletter you know everything about this photo from my Story Behind The Shot column. If you are not a subscriber yet make amend go to the link in my bio and subscribe! Anyway this was a photo I really rushed as I arrived late to my spot on Tower Bridge and I basically only had one shot (pun intended) to get it right. The sun had already disappeared behind the buildings but was still casting these beautiful colours onto the clouds. And it was quite windy a

Exactly a year ago I was fighting with the crowds to secure my spot up St.Pauls Cathedral to get the sunset aligned with the London Eye. Something I achieved as you can see as did my mate @snapsbyfox (should definitely check him out if you fancy some good Street Photography). Little did I know that fast forward 12 months Id be facing Lockdown 3.0 in UK because of a vile pandemic. I remember back then that I complained a lot about the long queue to get inside the Cathedral as tourism had reached
