West Bank Street Art - Banksy In 2005, Banksy produced a series of striking and highly political ads commenting on the divide between the West Bank and Israel. Each piece touches on the concept of escapism or paradise on the other side of the wall.

"In August 2005, Banksy painted nine images on the Israeli West Bank barrier, including an image of a ladder going up and over the wall and an image of children digging a hole through the wall" (Wikipedia) Article about: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2005/aug/05/israel.artsnews
Markus Ortner. Descripción (fuente). "Photography of a Banksy graffiti at the Israeli West Bank barrier in Bethlehem" (graffiti realizado por Banksy, en el muro en la localidad de Belén).
In 2005, Banksy traveled to Palestine and the West Bank where he stenciled nine images on the Bethlehem Wall. These works show children digging and playing near the wall, an armored dove with an olive branch, a girl frisking a soldier, a ladder ascending the wall, a girl floating over the wall with balloons and several other pieces. This groundbreaking series led to a second exhibit in Los Angeles entitled Barely Legal.
This wall is the Israeli West Bank Barrier, and this is one of the nine pieces painted on it by the artist Banksy. Graffiti as an art form is a bit up in the air, while some refuse to view it as real art, it can be argued that it is one of purest forms of modern art available. There is no elitism or hype, it’s not done in pursuit of monetary gain. It’s about making a statement, and I feel that sums up this image perfectly.

Pablo Picasso >> Weeping Woman (1937), I did a copy of this painting in a collage art class I took back in 1999. It took me 29 hours and only 3 days to recreate this painting...it turned out awesome! I really enjoyed the study of this painting!
In Pablo Picasso's "Weeping Woman", abstraction is most likely the first artistic element that can be seen, along with most of his other paintings. Abstraction - Visual representation with little resemblance to the real world.

The Weeping Woman, is an oil on canvas painted by Pablo Picasso in France in 1937. Picasso was intrigued with the subject, and revisited the theme numerous times that year. This painting was the final and most elaborate of the series. Wikipedia Artist: Pablo Picasso Period: Cubism Created: 1937 Media: Oil paint Dimensions: 60 cm x 49 cm Subject: Dora Maar, Suffering

Pablo Picasso is a well known artist born Málaga, Spain. The weeping women was made in 1937 he use cubism in this work. The materials he uses in this work are oil paint and canvas. The techniques he has used distorted images, Expressionism vibe through out the paint to make it look sad. The formal element that he has used are colour, line, shapes, tone, texture and from to make it look 3D. I have chosen this painting by Picasso because I really like the use of different shapes, colour and texture.

Composition VIII was painted in 1923 by German Expressionist painter, Vassily Kandinsky. He was a founding member of Der Blaue Reiter. These artists shared the philosophy to express spiritual truths through art, often in abstracted forms. Composition VIII reflects the influence of Suprematism and Constructivism absorbed by Kandinsky while in Russia prior to his return to Germany

Wassily Kandinsky Composition VIII poster. Oil painting on canvas from 1923. Kandinsky created some of the most famous abstract paintings of the twentieth century, and Composition VIII is certainly among them. Full of arresting black lines and intriguing shapes, the painting moves with a sense of life and vibrance provided by the organic yellow, blue, red and green colors touched throughout the work. A great gift for fans of Kandinsky, abstract art, and vintage prints.

"Burning Down the House", a portrait by David LaChapelle of the late and great Alexander McQueen and his 'muse’ Isabella Blow. Everything about this picture is a source of inspiration in my interiors. McQueen, Blow and LaChapelle all took traditional elements, historical and literary references, and gave them an edgy update in their work. This image is fun and anarchic.
