Scarlet fine wool frock coat and matching sleeved waistcoat, circa 1745-50, elaborately embroidered with gilt thread and sequins, the buttons covered in interwoven metal strip, the coat with full skirts, with stiffened interlinings, lined in crimson silk, with densely embroidered broad pocket flaps, decorative buttons to the sword slits, very narrow graduated collar; the matching waistcoat with linen upper lining, single buttons at the cuffs
Chenille embroidered dress silk, source unknown, and marked as circa 1750. Two joined panels of robust quality cream dress silk embroidered with trailing roses and other flowers in harmonious green, pink and blue. Very pretty and stylish. Lots of detail images at the site. The spare and stripey style reminds me of later in the centruy, but I am not an expert, as the dealer is.
