Great mentor text for persuasive writing. The book is completely ridiculous and my 2nd and 3rd graders loved it! After we read the story, we wrote our own animal parade books with titles like "A Tiger Parade is a Terrible Idea." And in 3rd grade we were able to do this as an extension activity for our Georgia animal research. The kids loved coming up with persuasive reasons and illustrating them--will definitely do this project again.
