The big dream is to cre­ate a new tribe of lan­guage speak­ers. A commu­nity flu­ent in thought and speech. At present the Squamish Lan­guage is con­sid­ered the third most endan­gered lan­guage in British Colum­bia. Recent stud­ies have shown how com­mu­ni­ties with lan­guage pro­grams and young speak­ers have lower sui­cide rates due to a sense of belong­ing and con­nec­tion know­ing your language brings.

Chief Dan George, 7/24/1899 - 8/23/1981, was a chief of the Tsleil-Waufuth Nation located on Burrard Inlet in North Vancouver B.C. Canada. He was also an author, poet and an Academy Award nominated actor. In 1960 at the age of 60 he landed his first acting job. At 71, he won several awards for his role in "Little Big Man" and them acted in many other films like "The Outlaw Josey Wales".

The home of the best little community theatre in town. Hendry Hall, built in 1942 as an Air Raid Precautionary Post, has been home to the North Vancouver Community Players - since 1972.
