Inspiration for art projects in high school

Some inspiration for me for high school art projects. Some of this is just a starting point, and sometimes it's the whole project I want to make.

You're welcome! My students are high school so they will use black marker for outlining and details and then colored pencil right on the dictionary page. But for younger kids your idea is perfect.

My students are high school too (13-14 years old), but I'm not sure I want the writing to appear under the letter; that's why I thought of doing it on another paper. Unless I make them use acrylic paint, but I'm afraid the paper will just wave because of it.

I've drawn on the page with colored pencil Prismacolor and fine point marker and it looks pretty cool. It's transparent if drawn lightly and not so much if push harder. The look is artsy : ) I might even try gold marker on the page. I haven't tried paint.

And I layer my colors. It's not too transparent. Kids will have to try not to push too hard and rip the paper!

Good to know! I'll have to give it a try!

Masked Child. Last year during the Human Impact unit, I had my students come up with PSA-style posters related to environmental issues they read about in groups. I liked the lesson and plan to use it again, and this will be a great example of how a poster can send a message with powerful images and few or no words.
