Grammatical Name Art - 1: Write name in bubble letters. 2: First letter write nouns that relate to you (common or proper nouns). 3: Second letter with verbs that relate to you (action or linking verbs). 4: Third letter with adjectives that describe you. Etc.... I have lots of ideas for this - it could also be used as a great community building activity in older grades (maybe pair up with a partner, learn about each other, and create one for your partner?)

Paint that grows. Mix 1 cup flour, 3 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt, and enough water to make consistency of pancake batter. Divide into 4 parts and put in snack size Ziploc baggies along with food coloring. Squish it around to mix up the colors. Rubber band like icing bag and snip tiny hole. Squeeze to paint and then pop paper in microwave for 30-45 seconds and watch the paint puff up and grow.
