Xavier likes to be part of his material. He works on it in relief, adding charcoal, sand and ashes. He paints the "Universal man", without ever showing his face. The disembodied way of depicting man refers to the difficulty of existing as an individual in a universe submerged with information and means of communication. His characters choke and struggle in a society which forcibly plugs them in and eventually makes them mad.
