With the 50 oz. green beans, use 5 Tbs. sugar, 5 Tbs. oil, and 1 tsp. salt. Bring to a boil, then turn down on low to simmer for about 30 minutes. They do not have to cook that long, but they are better when they cook down some. You will probably still need some more salt on them when you are eating. I just try not t overdo it in case everyone else doesn't like as much. If you have a smaller can of green beans, cut back the amounts of sugar, oil, and salt accordingly.
