Daisy Yellow index-card-a-day week 1 2016
Tutorial: Beautiful Image Transfers on Gelli® Printed Backgrounds with @BirgitKoopsen! To create the image transfer you need laser prints or photo copies (inkjet does not work well with this technique), gel medium (I prefer Liquitex Matte Medium because it is so fluid and smooth and easy to work with), a soft brush, a bank or gift card, paper towels, baby wipes, a bowl of water and of course your beautiful Gelli® prints.
Tutorial: Beautiful Image Transfers on Gelli® Printed Backgrounds with @BirgitKoopsen! Just create a bunch of random colorful backgrounds, start with color only, no patterns yet. I usually start with covering my backgrounds with 2 or 3 light colors like yellow, pink and orange and then later add patterns in darker colors, this way you will keep the light colors vibrant.

Printing with Gelli Arts®: When printing items with fine details, like leaves and feathers — place them vein-side down into the paint for the best prints. That's where the texture is more prominent. You can pull an almost photographic ghost print!

Dahlia Flower Wreath with Gelli® Prints -- Now, cut the nine prints in fourths. Here is where my paper cutter was a nice bonus because it made this step go really quick, but if you don’t have one of those, then just measure and cut using a ruler and scissors. The measurement of each section should now be 4.25” x 5.5” and there should be thirty-six rectangular prints.
Gelli Arts Monoprinting: Making Masks Tutorial — Diana Delaney -- Now, take another color of acrylic paint that is either complimentary, or in contrast to the background you pulled on the deli paper. I'm choosing to use a complimentary color in this example. Roll this color of your choosing onto the gelli plate with your brayer and cover with several of your masks, to create an interesting design.
Using an art supply from the hardware store in an art journal -- This drywall tape takes paint beautifully...and I took a short cut and painted it with the Gelli Plate®.
Tutorial: Gelli® Printing on Sheer Fabrics! Also — you can layer the sheer prints together to get awesome effects! Especially cool when layering a first pull with its ghost, out of register. I took these photos of some layered combinations before fusing the fabrics to various substrates. Now I can use those pictures to create other images! Try it!!
Tutorial: Gelli® Printing on Sheer Fabrics! Your mark-making options are the same for fabric as for Gelli® printing on paper, so use your favorite methods and texture tools to create your designs.
Tutorial: Gelli® Printing on Sheer Fabrics! Printing on stabilized sheer fabrics is as easy as printing on paper! For information about printing on a silk habotai scarf — take a look here.
Florence Turnour's Blog: Keeping cards clean while Gelli printing -- Step 1. Ink the plate. In this picture, I only inked about three quarters of the 8"x10" plate because I was making 5"x7" cards. I placed a stencil (black) onto the paint (pink).
These 2 Gelli prints are both made from a total of 29 faces - all of which are faces I cut out from magazines. You can't really see some of the faces anymore, but they are there! In addition to the 2 prints, I also made a time lapse video of the process (I kept track of the number of faces by adding pencil marks to the back of the prints as I was going along.)

Gelli® Printing with Folded Paper!! It's amazing how addictive a simple paper texture tool is to work with! You'll have a stack of prints in no time! And they're great for collage — or working back into with your favorite pens and pencils. So much fun!!
Gelli® Printing with Folded Paper!! TIP: When creating bleed prints (no borders) — where the paper is smaller than the painted plate — place a cover sheet over the printing paper to keep your hands clean. You can use your cover sheets over and over. Deli paper is an excellent cover sheet, as shown in the video.
